AuroraCloud is an audio and video media processing service based on the intelligent encoding and artificial intelligence content adaptive video processing technology of Visionular. AuroraCloud provides a scalable, reliable, easy-to-use and maintenance-free cloud service for transcoding media files.

You can specify the encoder (H.264 H.265 or AV1), bitrate, resolution and format as required. Compared with traditional transcoding services, AuroraCloud can achieve 40% to 50% reduction in video file size without reducing quality.

    AuroraCloud can generate thumbnails of your output video for you. You can set the size of the thumbnails, start_point and other parameters including how many thumbnails you would like to have generated.

  • HLS with AES-128 Encryption

    You can generate HLS streams protected with AES-128 encryption. Jobs created with this option will encrypt the media files and reference the decryption key in the playlist.

  • DRM Packaging

    We support packaging for Widevine, FairPlay DRM. You can protect your HLS outputs using Widevine and FairPlay. When creating your transcoding template, be sure to include the encryption key URL provided by your DRM License Provider.

Glossary

  • Video transcoding

    Video Transcoding refers to the process of converting a compressed and encoded video stream into another video stream to accommodate different network bandwidths, terminal processing capabilities and user needs. Transcoding is essentially a process of decoding and then encoding, streams before and after transcoding may use the same or different video encoding standards.

  • AWS S3

    Amazon Simple Storage Service (AWS S3) is an object storage service provided by AWS. AuroraCloud supports transcoding of media files stored in AWS S3.

  • Region

    A region is a video transcoding service node. You can select the same or nearby regions as your application servers and media storage services to enjoy lower latency and network costs.

  • Input file

    It refers to the media files that you store in the cloud storage service to be transcoded.

  • Preset template

    It refers to the built-in intelligent transcoding template, which provides common audio and video transcoding parameters settings. The preset templates can provide you with the best transcoding service under certain broadband conditions.

  • Customized preset templates

    You can create new preset templates and customize the transcoding parameters for use in transcoding tasks. Each custom template has a unique ID.

  • Watermark

    Watermark is an image overlay that can be automatically added to the output video after transcoding. You can set the watermark source image, location and size.
